‘Dexter’ Is Ending After 8 Seasons

During a question and answer session at the 2013 dbAccess Media, Internet & Telecom conference March 4, CBS Corp. President and CEO Les Moonves have accidentally let it slip that Michael C. Hall’s long-running show will end after its upcoming eighth season.

I’m truly disappointed !!!

“We have Ray Donovan coming on, with Liev Schreiber, which comes on with Dexter’s last season starting in June,” Les said when the moderator asked about Showtime’s upcoming programming.

Showtime, which is owned by CBS Corp., hasn’t issued an official statement, but at the very least, Les’ off-handed comment should give Dexter fans pause.

If season eight does turn out to be Dexter’s last, it wouldn’t be totally unexpected.

The final scene of the show’s seventh season certainly left us with an ominous feeling, as Dexter pondered what the future holds for himself and his sister Deb (Jennifer Carpenter).
